Andreas Achenbach (1815 -1910)

German, Golden Age Painter. Born on 29 September 1815 in Kassel, he studied in the Düsseldorf Academy. He painted mainly Rhineland villages, Norwegian landscapes and North Sea coast scenes, much influenced by Dutch seventeenth-century painting. He died in Düsseldorf in April 1910.
